A Southern Summer Wedding at the Stunning Grand Lady in Austin, TX
Beau + Brady | June 2022
This Austin, Texas wedding was full of faith, joy, a garden of flowers, intentional details, and effortless style. The Grand Lady served as the perfect backdrop for the day with its mix of historical charm and contemporary flair. Beau & Brady wanted a southern-style wedding, full of flowers and fixed on Jesus — and that’s exactly what this vendor team achieved!
It’s always fun to get to plan and design weddings in Austin, TX. There’s something about the venues here that lend themselves to either an eclectic, charming, or historical feel — or all of the above! The Grand Lady venue is a perfect example that checks all three boxes. A historical home that was built in 1881 as a wedding present for the original owner, this mansion has been refurbished and relocated to Manor, Texas. Tucked away in the hills, and in a landscape that somehow mixes the dessert feel of west Texas, with the lush trees of east Texas, the outdoor spaces at this wedding venue feel like a natural extension of the buildings onsite. I love how casual yet defined the brick courtyard space is for cocktail hour, and the multi-space options for ceremonies; using either the front lawn or the contemporary reception space (both inside and under the covering.) And when it comes to the reception hall — the striking lines, big windows, and modern shape are an unexpected compliment to the estate home — which is why it just works! It’s eclectic yet is still the perfect blank canvas for numerous design styles. There are so many possibilities to make your event your own, while hosting your guests with an unforgettable wedding weekend!
For Beau & Brady, we designed a wedding day that was to feel southern, sophisticated, and like “a heavenly garden party.” The lush florals by Unforgettable Floral made for a statement ceremony look that carried right into the reception space. The bridal bouquet and bridesmaids’ bouquets were the perfect complement to Beau’s simple yet stunning dress, and to the mismatched green, blue, and yellow dresses that the bridesmaids wore (hard to pick a favorite detail, but this one just might be it!) The invitation suite by TinyShindigs really brought in the Southern charm with the custom hand-painted crest and other painted floral details. I love how these custom details adorned the invitation suite and were then expanded into everything from ceremony fans for the guests to tags for the homemade jam escort display (which served as such a cool personal tie from the bride, as well as the perfect favor for guests to take with them.) The cake by Morgan Pearl Cakes served as a perfect focal point within the reception space, and the light blue buffalo check linen was a favorite find to complete the southern look. Both Bailee Starr Photography & Cloud Craft Studios captured the day perfectly, and Smither Productions brought the house down with a packed dance floor all night. It was a day that Beau & Brady’s guests won’t soon forget, and one of the most memorable moments for me was when the bride had me cut off her wedding dress (there’s a first for everything!)
