Tonal blues with southern sensibility at this White Sparrow spring wedding

Love was in the air and spring was on full display in this Dallas, TX wedding. Regan & Trace’s nuptials at The White Sparrow Barn fully embraced a garden-party feel — and in every shade of blue! The structure of the event created a seamless and unique experience for guests as they enjoyed the ceremony under the oak trees, followed by an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour, dinner inside the reception hall, and then a grand reveal of the al fresco dance floor to top it off. Even though 250 guests were in attendance, this wedding felt intimate and peaceful. Every design decision and planning choice honored the guests, and wove Regan & Trace’s story into the details. We will never forget how the unique flow of the day facilitated a memorable experience for all, and created many opportunities for thoughtful design choices!

The bride embraced ‘something blue’ in every aspect of the event design — the florals, the linens, the paper goods, the attire — but there was nothing artificial about the result. Instead, varying hues and tones were layered to create an organic look and only “natural forms” of the color were used. Some of my favorite ways the color palette was embraced was through the linens and the bridesmaids’ dresses. The linens were artfully selected to feature tonal, floral pattern, as well as various shades and textures of blue. Not every linen selection was carried into every space. This conscious choice created distinction in the design as guests moved through the event. The bridesmaids’ dresses were mismatched in an assortment of solid blues and floral prints, which leant to an effortlessly curated visual (and was a huge hit on social media!) These are just two of the many ways the tonal blue inspiration was embraced in a refined and elevated way.

While this couple had a clear vision of their wedding day and was so organized throughout their planning process, they ultimately found value in hiring us for planning & design services. When reflecting on the process, Regan said, “you reminded me over and over that the day was for Trace and I and that we can do whatever we want. We left the wedding saying ‘that was so us’” — which as a planner, is the ultimate motive for my process and my work, and is a testament to a job well done. When the choices are true to you, the result produces a timeless design, and an authentic experience for all.

From the bride: “Without a planner, wedding planning would have been a million times more stressful. Lexie was there every step of the way, answering all my questions, and brought a peace to the whole planning process. The day of the wedding, I told everyone that that day was the most peaceful and chill day I had had in months! Lexie kept the day running smoothly and was so calming, my mother and mother-in-law have not stopped talking about how incredible Lexie was and how thankful they were that she ran the day. Even my dad said that was the best money we spent!”

Our team was honored to venture up to Dallas to plan, design, and execute this dreamy, garden-inspired wedding. Everything from the floral prints, to the lush garden florals, to the paper goods by the bride was perfection. While I’ll never be over the tiny details that were woven into this day, I am especially left with they lasting impression of a genuine, trusting couple and the culmination of their planning process in a peaceful, joyful day!
